Baltimore City Demolition Bill Passes House, Senate
Despite a few voices of opposition, the Maryland Senate passed its version of the House Baltimore City Demolition Bill last week, aimed at removing the blight and dangers that come with dilapidated and boarded up properties. “The proposal is tied to a larger initiative by Gov. Larry Hogan to demolish abandoned and condemned properties in Baltimore City that were prominently featured during the unrest that occurred last April following Freddie Gray’s death. They will also revitalize infrastructure in those areas,” according to The MarylandReporter.com.
